Through the years from a small factory to a world leadership

1960 Foundation

Founded as a manufacturer of spare parts for refrigeration systems, Metalfrio soon refocused on the needs and demands of Brazilian refrigeration players such as the beverage and ice cream industry.

2006 Turkey

Foundation of the first factory in Turkey. As soon as the company realized the demand for its products in the European market, it was decided to create a refrigeration equipment manufacturing plant aimed at the European market. Besides, the company has completed the construction of a new refrigeration plant in the state of Mato Groso do Sul, which was commissioned to increase the production capacity of Metalfrio Solutions.

2007 Denmark and Russia

Metalfrio Solutions acquired assets in Denmark and Russia owned by Caravell and Derby, one of the most renowned refrigeration equipment manufacturers in their segment in Europe and the world. Through this takeover, the company has become a global player in the world refrigeration market. Start of full-fledged production in Kaliningrad, Russia, and takeover of Nieto and Enerfreezer, Mexico, with a production capacity of 270,000 units per year.

2009 CO2

The first company in the American continent to develop refrigerators using CO2 as a refrigerant, built in a cassette system. In 2009, Metalfrio launches the innovative VK43 in the US market with the ability to use CO2 as a refrigerant, with a 97% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions and a replaceable "cassette" system that replaces an idle compressor in less than 5 minutes. Mass American expansion continued in flesh until 2011.
